Starting her journey over 10 years ago in complementary therapies, Deryn trained in and provided therapies from around the world before moving on to study osteopathy. She qualified at the College of Osteopaths in 2020 after 5 years of study, graduating with a first-class bachelors-honours degree — receiving the Reg Oakes award for first in class and the Institute of Osteopathy's Rising Star award 2020.
Deryn has also qualified as a Cranial Osteopath with the Sutherland Cranial College of Osteopathy in October 2020.
Women's Health & Nutrition Specialism
Alongside her core osteopathic training, Deryn has continued building a dedicated specialism in women's health and nutrition-led care:
Women's Health Practitioner Diploma with Online Academies, achieved with distinction.
Completed a two-year Diploma in Women's Health, studying under Caroline Stone — author of Visceral and Obstetric Osteopathy — across Bristol and online study.
Advanced Diploma in Diet and Nutrition, Level 5, completed in April 2025, allowing evidence-based diet and nutrition advice alongside treatment.
Regular CPD workshops including Menopause 101 and cadaveric anatomy training, to stay current on women's health across every life stage.
Institute of Osteopathy Rising Star, 2020
Each year, Higher Educational Institutions put forward their top osteopathy graduate to receive the prestigious Institute of Osteopathy Rising Star Award — a category that celebrates the best new UK talent from that year's graduating class, recognising their hard work and commitment to osteopathic development for the benefit of patient care. Deryn was announced as one of the 2020 winners, with the award presented at the Institute's Annual General Meeting.
"Deryn has been a credit to the college. This extremely capable, dependable student, consistently performed to a very high standard. She is very much attuned to patient care, while also supporting and mentoring junior colleagues. A big concern during the pandemic was the mental and physical wellbeing of both students and staff. Deryn immediately stepped up to volunteer her time and expertise to run online support sessions."
— Maurice Cheng, Chief Executive, Institute of Osteopathy
What is an Osteopath?
Osteopaths are highly trained healthcare professionals who support and promote the health of people of all ages, from babies to the elderly, through manual therapy, exercise and health advice. Osteopaths are regulated by law and recognised as one of the Allied Health Professions by NHS England.
The Institute of Osteopathy (iO) is the professional membership organisation representing over two-thirds of osteopaths in the UK. iO membership gives patients assurance that its members provide the highest standards of service and care, exceeding the minimum requirements of professional regulation.
