What is Acupuncture?

Acupuncture is a form of ancient Chinese medicine based on a system of meridians, or channels of energy, running through the body. It works on the principle of balancing the "yin" and "yang" of the body's life force, known as "qi."

Fine needles are used to target specific points among the 350 available across the body. Stimulating these points is thought to affect the nervous system, triggering the release of natural substances such as enkephalins and endorphins, which play a role in pain relief.
